I have generally found that a random user on Hacker News is much less likely to be a troll than, say, Reddit. In light of that consideration, I'm left with a belief that the most likely cause of comments like these is simple misunders

I don't disagree with your thesis here. I'd like to observe that a course of training such as you describe seems outside the scope of the article. Perhaps it does some small good, anyway, by suggesting that acquiring such trainin

This is a bit philosophical, but I'd say the thing you're disdaining here is the ability to handle difficult concepts. It's tough to acquire, because it requires practice failing at it for a while until we begin to succeed a

This reminds me of something I'm still working to figure out -- the 'negative capability' referenced by Keats. In one sense, it's the ability to accept an answer of 'unknown'. Maybe it's the ability to ch

I love the ambition. But when you stated your next goals, I'm afraid I thought of this: http://xkcd.com/1425/ I may very well be wrong, and I'd love it if you showed me I am. Good luck. As I said, I really

Ouch. This one landed. If this is true, then I think it would turn me off the deal. Unless I wanted to try what someone else mentioned and flash it with CyanogenMod or something. Never done that before, but this might be a good way to s

Maybe I'm not sufficiently hardware-savvy, but what's the downside here? I am more or less in the market for a modest tablet, but I'm indifferent to whether it comes from Amazon. Can someone recommend a better deal?

He didn't seem to be arguing against the principle of charging for the service. But, from a user's viewpoint, having to pay for something is rarely an argument in its favor.

I wrote a simpler version of very nearly the same thing not long ago. But this one is much nicer. The animations, in particular, add a lot of flash.

This is exactly the reason I've never switched to using `less +F`, as well. When I tail a log, I'm usually looking for sections of it corresponding to particular test runs. Adding blank lines or even rows of dashes/equal
