Annoying but at least Walmart still has the option to filter out third party sellers (under Filters, select Retailer and then Walmart). IIRC Amazon used to support this, but not anymore. I guess it wouldn't even do you much good with t

Static HTML means you don't have your own code to worry about vulnerabilities in. Vulnerabilities in the server or OS software don't just go away.

Every time I've been passed over for a job, I've been notified in a timely manner. I would consider anything less to be grossly, outrageously unprofessional. It's never happened to me, but if it ever does, you best believe I

My friend has a Fellow grinder and I honestly can't stand it. It takes about 5 or 6 iterations to get all the grounds out. It looks sleeker, and would match all the other Fellow stuff I have, but is too frustrating to use, even if it w

It's a complete waste all around? Wasted cycles at runtime, wasted development time, and a bunch of unnecessary lines of code to read and debug later.

Not quite: while the 10 hours spent waiting in between orders is not as good as free time, it is not as bad as working (in this case driving) time either. You can read a book, watch videos, browse the Internet, etc.

The last Frontier flight I took had the following cost breakdown: Airfare: $0.01 Taxes and fees: $18.97 Total: $18.98

I don't think Spirit makes any secret of the fact that carry on bags are not included in the price? And in any case, the flight aggregators I have used lately (namely, Google Flights and Kayak) make it obvious.

OER also does not capture the cost of buying a house today, but of renting an already owned home. Rents do not seem to have gone up nearly as much as prices + interest rates.

Not a great comparison since every website needs to be vulnerability free, but not every passenger needs or wants to pick their own seat.

How is babysitting the child next to you your problem? Just put your noise canceling headphones on and ignore them. If they're kicking the seat in front of them, that person can complain to the flight attendant or whatever

In a democracy aren't we all government auditors? When I feel a price is unreasonable, I want to know whom to complain to. If the taxes are what's making it unreasonable, I want to know to complain to the government rather than th

That is a completely bogus comparison. You can easily determine the total cost inclusive of sales tax yourself, and you almost certainly know your own local tax rate already. You cannot determine the cost of a medical procedure ahead of tim

Thanks for the long winded justification, but all of these are strictly worse than simply leaving my package at the doorstep. I'm 40 years old and in my entire life I have had exactly one package go missing after being delivered... tha

Interesting, I didn't know that. The real question is, if someone adds me by username, will they still be able to see my phone number after that?

Whatsapp and Signal can only use phone numbers, though? And Telegram requires a phone number (though you can also have a username).

In order to make money at sports you have to entertain others, i.e. produce entertainment for lots of people. Theoretically, you could win at poker without producing anything, but practically, the most profitable players will be the ones wh

I tried using containers for a while, and found them to be severely lacking. One example: You can't edit a container's site list, you can only add the currently loaded FQDN to it. So, you can't for example assign *.google.com

Back then the Red Cross would do free antibody tests for anyone who donated blood. There were two. One could not distinguish between antibodies from an infection vs. vaccine, and came back in a day or two. The other did, and took longer.
