I used to enjoy wrapping a metal slinky around the base of mine. Then whenever I touched metal to it I’d get little sparks. Must have been acting as an antenna, but I wonder what exactly was going on.

I assume it has to do with which side the reflective coating is on? If it's on the room-facing face there is no gap. If it's on the backing (wall-side face) there is a gap as thick as the glass.

Yes and no. Some of the general part features will be familiar (in the sense that an ARM Cortex M[X] is the same as any other Cortex M[X]. In reality every vendor's peripherals, and more importantly HAL and associated drivers and libs,

At work we often try to do a different color for each revision so you can tell at a glance what's in a given unit. It's definitely saved me a few times!

From the fabs I usually use (PCBWay, JLCPCB) I've found it's usually cheapest to order them along with the PCBs themselves. On PCBWay they're about $10. JLCPCB they're $9.
