If you use AI agents for all your work as a novice do you ever make it out of the valley?

I thought the value of using a licensed tax agent is that if they give you advice that ends up being bad, they have an ethical/professional obligation to clean up their mess.

I've only user aider (which I like quite a bit more than cursor) but I'm curious how it compares to plandex and goose.

Yeah, I tried CC out and quickly noticed it was spending $5+ for simple LLM capable tasks. I rarely break $1-2 a session using aider. Aider feels like more of a precision tool. I like having the ability to manually specify. I do find Claude

I don't think I ever made it into flow state once in Elden Ring even though I beat it. I just grinded until I was high level enough that it didn't matter that I didn't time any of the bosses right.

Great read, I can definitely confirm a lot of these myself. Would be nice to see this aggregated into some kind of "best practices" document (although hard to say how quickly it'd be out of date).

I love my Apple watch because it does so well with tracking fitness stuff (particularly swimming) but it's a few years old now and is starting to get that laggy feeling interface that seems to be a hallmark of older Apple devices after

I'm not sure how you arrived at that interpretation of my comment but it does seem to be the one you were trying to goad out of me with your responses so you could reply with this.

There is an undercurrent of opinion on the platform that happens to align with Chinese worldviews that is strong enough to make politically neutral (or at least abstaining) influencers on the platform uncomfortable.

They don’t get this kind of pressure on YouTube or IG.

A sibling of mine who gets a significant portion of their income through their Tiktok following confessed to me recently that they completely understand why they are shutting it down. Apparently influencers get a lot of unsolicited pressure

Perhaps this is pedantic but for someone who seems principled about strictly using standards, markdown itself has no real standard - you'll find wildly different implementations all over the place.

Just out of curiosity, do you know of any hypermedia/hateoas open source repositories that you'd recommend as good example implementations? The best I've found is the github v3 API but it would be nice to review different app

Framed in a slightly less condescending way: what kind of prompts are you sending the AI about my events? How does it give me a starting point for "Fix bug tickets that came in over holidays" or "run to trader joe's to p

Awesome for everyone except the creators of all that data. For years Google slowly encroached on their viewership (ads, amp, summaries, etc) and now they are being replaced by something that gives the creators absolutely nothing. Not even a

3-6 hours is nothing in terms of the money you will spend on development for even a modestly funded startup. You definitely don't need to be a healthcare or banking app to quickly reap the benefits of a robust dev/deploy cycle.

CI should speed your development up, not slow it down. It's definitely something you should add earlier to the project than later.

This legitimately terrifies me because it feels like a realistic eventual outcome — whether it’s via a careless automated system with no recourse or simply enshittification of an existing product due to leadership change. I’m so entrenched

There's no guarantee your code will be rewritten or refactored. I have code written over 15 years ago that I know is still in production because it is stable and core to the application. I suppose one day it probably will be replaced b

I can think of a bunch of similarities just off the top of my head: throughput management is probably the most critical skill in factorio, and obviously comes up all over software engineering. Managing production belt chains is not unlike m
