I think docker or similar is a great step forward... One question in my mind though: what about the databases? Say you have a web app and a reporting app that use the same database (and probably a communications framework - zmq server rabbi

Not my experience... I've been battling for several days now to try and get mono, monodevelop and F# installed from git (admittedly I'm trying to do that using a prefix argument to the various configure steps). My overwhelming imp

I've had a look at the last slide now - I think the transitions could use a little work. With that in mind - how hard would it be to integrate with d3 do you think?

Nice - looks very simple and lightweight! I especially like the effort put into the interactive tutorial documentation that these frameworks have. Angular and knockout both had stand out docs too! Is there a particular niche for this framew

Good question. No idea! If I get charged the VAT and duty, I think I might be able to make up the £90 by charging the other geeks in my office a "fondle fee". We're all forced to use windows, I might even be able to make a pr

Done. £419 for a phone that good, that I only need a screen and a keyboard for to turn into a mobile workstation. Fingers crossed that enough people find this as compelling as I do and sign up!

Although in this case they've pegged the problem as too much access to other kinds of slippery poles :-)

This is a very welcome addition to my Haskell bookshelf. I bought the pdf version and it looks perfect on my ipad. I'm really glad to have the clickable version to have in a browser window as well. That seems a bit more convenient for

d3.js hands down. You absolutely can update in d3 stuff in real time, all you do is create a transition and re-bind the updated data. I've previously built the front end to a trading system that streams events to the browser and update

I thought that function composition (.) arises from the category instance for (->)? Actually on checking it seems that Prelude re-exports (.) from Data.Function. I'm sure I read somewhere that these had been unified, was I wrong?

Do you have a link, this sounds extremely interesting. I've just started reading Adowey's category theory book, it's amazing when you start to notice the same basic fundamental structures everywhere!

Not to come across as too much of a Haskell fanboy, but this is almost the exact sweet spot for Haskell: Typesafe operations over recursive structures. I'd say C# and F# would also be good choices. I completely understand and agree wit

+1 The zope component architecture properly used is a thing of beauty. To see it in practice, probably the best example is the pyramid web framework. Most of the important things in pyramid are expressed in terms of interfaces and component

It's not a total solution but I find the zope.interface and zope.component libraries really good for this. I believe that zope.component provides some stuff to build unit tests that verify if and interface is correctly implemented
