> Narrow streets can be equipped with some kind of helping beacons one day That changes the goal posts in my opinion. The “self” part of “self-driving” no longer applies.

If the jpeg is irrelevant, shouldn’t all NFTs from the same contract cost the same? If it’s just a club membership, why would people buy multiple NFTs from the same contract?

How does owning an NFT that is similar to someone else’s give access to that person or community? Do you have examples?

> Fine Art is about story and provenance Fine art is about being aesthetically pleasing. A JPG can do this on its own, without an NFT. Maybe you mean the value of art is determined by, among other things, story and provenance? Sure, NFTs

I came here to say this as well. Who are these guys and why have they gotten this crucial point wrong?

They might be alluding to the removal of centralized authorities that would have otherwise been able to get that money back.

The OP’s question was about how the bid got so high, i.e. it would take two people to get the bid that high.

*100x. One of the other threads mentioned that they had to post their maximum bid publicly in a blockchain somewhere as part of the “dao” before the auction, so someone could easily have seen what they were willing to bid, and just bid them

I found the same thing to be true back when I invented the car. It’s incredibly annoying and takes away from the conversation.

A couple questions: - if a “defi” currency swap is happening between two parties, how is it performed without a centralized application making the trade? - if there is in fact a centralized application making the trade, who owns it and how

True. And good general advice. Frankly I find it hard to do, when depending on who you’re talking to, the intended utility is not even definitive (e.g. a currency vs a “store of value”). Maybe this points at something larger.

I have one-upped TXTCHAIN with PAPERCHAIN. In order to ensure decentralization, I have a webcam pointed at my PAPERCHAIN paper ledger that is active at all times. Other PAPERCHAIN paper ledger node-people maintain the same setup, and they d

To show my point with an example, according to him, 10 devs keeping the lights on has a better AAR than 15 devs that are keeping the lights on and adding new value. But the former is not more efficient than the latter.

Vanity metrics don’t have to be high numbers, they can be low numbers too. The author is just swapping high head count with low head count as a vanity metric, using low headcount as an efficiency indicator. Without knowing what the people a

My point is that you’re not even sure that it’s AWS’s problem. I heard that other providers might be affected, perhaps meaning it’s a network issue.
