No, the current mods were picked by 15 years of natural selection, where mods that don't care about their role have had the potential to get bored and leave or have their community migrate to a different subreddit that more matches wha

I'm pretty sure the bulk of reddit's costs are the ~1800 employees building things nobody wants, uses, or asked for. Live streaming, chat, avatars and NFTs are all features that should never have been built.

As far as I'm aware, Reddit still allows you to append .json to any of their pages and you get the results as a nicely formatted json document. No LLM required.

In my experience, a preference for single exit comes from C where you always need to make sure to clean up any resources, and an early exit is a great way to have to duplicate a bunch of cleanup logic or accidentally forget to clean things

If you're watching non-interactive content, the device can just play the audio a little ahead of the video to keep things synchronized. I've noticed this with YouTube where sometimes the audio gets out of sync when listening on bl

I have a phone from 3 years ago with both an IP68 rating and a headphone jack. There's zero reason that Apple couldn't do the same, they just wanted to convince a lot of people to buy $150 headphones.

I disagree. Counterintuitive design is bad design, and leads to subtle bugs getting introduced. This is especially damning in a language where so many decisions are justified by a desire for simplicity and ease of understanding. You throw t

By "fast to encode" do you mean that in terms of low latency or low CPU usage? I ask because I know Opus is used quite commonly in real-time applications (e.g. voip), and I remember when researching in the past that it is actually

Making it less convenient (e.g. by requiring customers to have a container on hand) is a great way to have fewer customers. Why not instead mandate compostable containers?
