1.2mega-kilo-meter? 1.2 million kilo-meter? What about the proper unit: 1.2Gm (1.2 giga-meter).

Agreed. How can we offer a solution that is as low or lower friction and does the right thing instead of security theater. At least we could consider this part of a defense in depth. We; humans; always reach for instant gratification. The p

It seems like that in every country. If you think about it, if you are rich, it doesn't really make sense to want other people to know about compounding. They might not signup for this insurance, or credit card, or spend the money onto

Yeah but you see, this requires to be deployed along side the application somehow with the help of the ops team. While changing the command line is under control of the application developer.

I do not, sorry. You can read the datasheet of the chip learn everything about it. You can then search online for some implementation of firmware uploader/programmer like "avrdude". Those chips are very simple, all controlled

I have a bag of attiny13a that cost me $0.20 per chip. It is fully self contained. Just add a very small capacitor, give it from 2.8V to 5V. And then you program it the way you want. You can even program and debug it via a single pin if yo

Yep it was great. I had one client per device. Could talk to everybody. I had a consistent UX. Sure sharing pictures and videos wasn't easy then. But also the pay to use features and dark patterns weren't an issue either.

Yes experienced programmers won't make the obvious mistake... until they do because the distance from the source of the bug to it's manifestation is too great to notice until it fails in production.

It happens all the time sadly. It's not because people intentionally write this way. A function takes a parameter (a Go slice for example) and calls another function and so one. Deep down a function copies the pointer to the slice (via

It wasn't really tricky concurrency. Somebody just made the mistake of sharing a pointer across goroutines. It was quite indirect. Boils down to a function takeing a param and holds onto it. `go` is used at some point closing over this
