On Android it often stutters, the cursor jumps across the characters at random speeds, sometimes it teleports sometimes it moves one character at a time smoothly. When you lift your thumb it often registers as an extra motion in an unexpect

Syntactic sugar to avoid the variant where there is only one, not only where used, but also when declared: enum Foo { Foo{...} }, what to do with the second Foo. And what about FFI (foreign function interface) where you have to maintain ABI

To me this feels similar to C++ where you have to choose between static or dynamic dispatch at the implementation (template vs virtual methods). This means the user is forced into it one or the other. While in Rust, the implementation is do

In France, there is always the price per unit. And since the units are not in grain of barley nor a game of guess work (is this ounce dry or wet today?), it's obviously much easier to compare.

And Gnome is slow, with a completely limited UI that barely gives you anything of utility. The file selector is so bad (try selecting a file with the keyboard) and slow it's not even funny, it even has concurrency issues if you select

"Vaccinium myrtillus" literally means the "common Myrtille". Which is not blue and doesn't taste like a blueberry. I understand that blueberry is the common North American English word for Bleuet an and Myrtilles. W

You find those modern thick skinned fat blueberries everywhere it seems. But the more delicate berries not so much. Blackcurrant (Cassis) and redcurrant (Groseille) taste quite different, they are nice sprinkled atop fraisier cake for examp

But wouldn't it better to find a way to run it in userland for safety? I know NFS was already part of the kernel. And I presume that by living inside the kernel there is a tight integration with file buffers/caching, and probably

I understand this not as objects are missing, after all, struct with methods and traits are objects aren't they? But more like the lack of hierarchical inheritance, that is most often used in OOP to conveniently share common code with

I have the same pleasant experience with KDE on Wayland. I finally switched from i3/xorg with Mate desktop tools to KDE/Wayland a year ago. It's butter smooth, low latency, no tearing, fractional scaling is working fantastic.

I would install an US 240V@20A receptacle and replace the plug on the kettle. You can also wire a duplex 120V with the two phases (you might find this in some kitchens, and in my workshop). Then you can make a dangerous extension cord adapt

My experience is that python is a mess in production. Even with a full CI, tests, mypy for static typing, pinned dependencies recursively, bazel with custom rules to build those dependencies (because many python dep have undeclared deps). A
