I feel we need another category - unspecified behavior. I think everyone would agree the compiler should putout ONE of those answers and that nasal demons would be out of spec. The problem is that it’s not specified which should be picked

The MA hate is real and well deserved but there actually was a period of time where IE was the browser of choice for all the right reasons. People forget that part, but Microsoft has really made good products when they want to.

Yes, before they went "machine learning" all these assistants were much closer to command lines you spoke to - you had to learn the phrases, but they'd work reliably once you did. Now they basically never work.

It's not even really US-centric - it's that too many settings are controlled by one option "locale" and if you want a mixture that isn't represented, you're stuck, even in the USA. Example: ISO standard date 20

To be fair, a big part of being in Y Combinator itself is being "heavily encouraged" to use products from other Y Combinators. You just have to do it openly .

How is this even possible, backdoor or no? Isn't the whole point of this type of encryption that even a compromised machine can't decrypt without the passphrase? If this works it means that the key is stored unencrypted somewhere?

I’ve heard rumors that they’ve run out of A18s and had to pay special for more, so it’ll be interesting to see how they handle this going forward.

How fast can it recharge is probably the main limiting factor. I’m used to finding power wherever I can from the bad old days, but the M1 laptops have spoiled me.

I’m waiting for the first A chip designed after the Neo decision - it’ll be interesting to see what they do knowing it’ll end up in a laptop. The obvious thing is “fixing” the USB problem.

If the used ones are out there the more RAM is probably the way to go - but colors! The reality is nobody is noticing differences between the M1 and anything afterwards, really - those that do will know enough to pick their laptop.

The key is Apple can be their own customer and just not care anymore. It’ll probably only be worth it if it enables something “new” like more bigger Ultra chips or something.

Claude has been kicking ass at code, but I asked it to “sketch” a second floor with a stairway and bedrooms with large closets and it made … something that resembles something akin to not at all what I asked.

There are places today in the USA where the roadside stands don’t even have a lockbox, just a bowl of money. We specifically don’t tell you where because we’d like to keep it that way.

If it's proxying without caching, what you have is "basically" real. It's just there have been others who put a gameboy behind a massive cache, and most requests would come back from the cache server.
