EVs generally have more "freedom" to design the car the way they want, as it's usually motors (in the wheels, which you probably need to have anyway) and then the battery (which can be a giant slab, but that's for cost a

Kia has some competitive vehicles in niches that not many seem to want to service, and I suspect many of their buyers do not live in areas where immobilizers are going to be a major issue. Our dealer was fine, and it's been fine. It&#x

Exactly - it's a "fine sedan" for Kia, Honda, even Apple to release (I'm sure someone has put an Apple logo on it already). But it doesn't scream "Ferrari" nor does it scream "look at me I'm driv

The Pontiac Aztek was at least bold, and like the Nissan Cube, people didn't like the looks, but those who bought it really seemed to love it inordinately. This thing isn't even bold, it's just ... a generic car? If they ha

For many companies, even those breathlessly professing DEI, it boils down to “you can be any color you want as long as you operate exactly as our computers and processes expect you to. Any deviation will be harshly dealt with.”

Unstable fighters gives them much more maneuverability at the cost of “not returning to straight and level flight” that normal planes have. It’s not directly related to how the wind goes over the wings.

I’m reminded (and apropos as the Pope quoted him) of Tolkien’s description of the “eternal life” the Ring gives to mortals, and how it’s … not so desirable in the end.

The “mystery of the person” is a common theme in Catholicism - it can be seen in other (especially the “social”) encyclicals. Rerum Novarum by the current pope’s namesake is worth a study.

We lost the “liberal education” (not the political one, but the “freeing” classical one) and it’s starting to show. When you compare the robber barons to Google and Meta it’s kind of embarrassing- they build massive empires of iron horses s

In my experience “engineers” and builders are often quite “conservative” and really don’t like pushing the envelope, and they often only do it under protest. The most famous example may be the perpetual war between architects and engineers&

A lot of what you pay for with these systems is them staying the same for decades at a time - a factory outfitted with shelving doesn't want to have to replace it all just because they're reconfiguring a part or adding on.
