Semi-relevant but a few years old, a 2021 VFX industry survery found that around 60% of workstations run Linux, and that number is expected to continue growing. What's interesting to me is that VFX and game dev are kind of similar in t

I hope a sustainable Firefox fork emerges soon because it seems Google's illegal default search deals (aka the only thing keeping Mozilla afloat) are coming to an end. That's a great thing in general, but it would really suck if F

Anybody who publishes an app on the Google Play store and hosts their privacy policy on Github pages may have their app taken down because Google's bots won't be able to verify it exists. That happened to me a while back with an a

I think it would be much more effective if "/help <question>" just redirected users to a search engine. That won't find stuff on Discord of course, which is a good reason to not use Discord at all. No need to use s

I wonder if the data includes information about which players were banned for cheating? That could open the door to new research into cheat detection.

These files are source assets , which is as close to source code as you can get with non-code stuff. For regular people who didn't drink the OSI koolaid, this is a perfectly valid and logical use of the term "open source". I
