Even on a selfish level, the extra 2-3 weeks of PTO in UK is easily more important than the extra compensation in the US. What's the point of having more money if you are stuck in an office for more of the year and can only spend it on

"laki" actually an example of a word that changes its meaning when reduplicated instead of creating a plural. "laki" means husband and "laki-laki" means man or male . So you have to be careful about using

Twitter realises it is stupid. However many of their technologically illiterate users don't and when they tried to change it there was an outcry that Twitter was helping abuse or something silly like that. Keeping the feature is as is

Online interactions are just different. Yes they are not the same as IRL interactions, but they can be made around a shared interest, particularly something that might be hard to find where you live. So they can be more important.

To be clear, if it's an emergency door in a large building where a crush could occur, it will open outwards. But most residential buildings aren't big enough to require that, except for large tower blocks.

It's also for fire safety reasons that doors open inwards in the UK. It means that the door can't be blocked from the outside.
