In the comments: http://www.schneier.com/blog/archives/2009/08/self-enforcing... someone brings up the situation where there is only one item (Grandma's antique mirror) and how you can use the shotgun clause to determine who gets the item

One difference is that you can 'print' things that you can't make a mold for. see http://www.bathsheba.com/sculpt/ and http://www.bulatov.org/metal/index.html

Agreed. I once worked for 37 days straight. (weekends were 6-8 hours a day, weekdays were at least 12) and it is not something I care to repeat. I was much younger, didn't have a family and was living in a city that I had just moved to

About 4 years ago I was assigned to an internal project that was to provide a GUI CRUD interface in VB.Net to replace one written in curses on Linux. There were 50-75 attributes for the main entity plus multiple hierachical subsets of sub-

I have a //c that was purchased in 1985 that still works but it is rarely booted these days (not even once a year). I also would expect it to last basically forever because it doesn't have a hard disk. My floppy disks might demagnetize bu

That quote is hanging in my cube at eye-level. Related: "A plan is a list of things that don't happen." (which Google tells me is from a movie called "The Way of the Gun")
