You might want to put these on nounproject.com, where people can find them and you'll get royalties for their use.

This wasn't the summer I was expecting: although we've managed to melt a huge amount of the arctic ice cap, temperatures in the northern hemisphere were still bearable, even though this was one of the hottest summers on record, a

Author here: nice comment. Absolutely the way to success isn't about avoiding all risk. As you point out, this is the way to mediocrity and tedium. Life (and software) should be about taking risks - I've written a bunch of art

Thanks for letting me know - some Jekyll weirdness going on there, will look into it when there's less traffic.

Can you point us to some code that demonstrates how you do this?

I like the idea of statistical samples. this makes a lot of intuitive sense. However, I'm unaware of any methodology that obviates the need for unit testing. I presume you're talking about proofs, or maybe something like Idris?

I have the opposite problem - a lot of the code I think carefully about, factor correctly and ensure is thoroughly unit-tested spends about six months circling the plug-hole of tech demos and PoC before being sent to the bit-sewer and forgo

Well I’m not going to disagree, obviously. The hard part is figuring out what these distributions look like. For example, in the summer I got an intern to build an app. It demoed well and people naturally asked when it would be in product

Exactly. I talk about this at https://riskfirst.org/Estimates Knowing the way is 10x over finding the way. But I think this is still an interesting piece of research, backing up a lot of what we expect empirically.
