Language features. There are many features and language patterns, paradigms which I need to get used to in order to use libraries and read others code. (Similar to C++) I can't even begin to understand macros. So far it doesn't se

As someone who's not the biggest fan of Rust because of its complexity. There is a big reason to use it today. If you need to use something that has safety guarantees where it's possible to achieve acceptable performance in certai

This came out at the same time as Jurassic Park. This happens. John Carpenter's The Thing came out at the same time as E.T. The Extraterrestrial. Guess which one people saw.

As a layman who hasn't done any kernel programming. Linus sounds pretty reasonable here. We can't have the kernel crashing because of a panic.

I'm aware it's not impossible to exploit the current plug-in free browsers we have now. It's still objectively better than before. Not that I'm satisfied with the current state of browsers mind you. I just think not bei

Still, overall better than the situation of having to install a plugin that may or may not be available or working fully on your system. Plus security concerns of running sometimes obscure binaries on your system to access web content.

It was just a guess. One year of regular exposure to comprehensible input should be enough to have a good enough grasp to build off of. This is only relevant if your goal is fluency and not having think so much before speaking.

Yes I also believe my estimate is off. Regardless you should have a good understanding of the language before speaking it so you won't fall into the issues of adapting new words and grammer to your current one. You also should have it

Comprehensible input has a pretty straight forward definition. It's language before or just after the end of understanding. Maybe 80-90 percent known words so you can get the context of what's being said. If you can't grab ho

I was guessing about about 15,000 hours I just think it has to be a lot time. I'm sure speaking helps most people who study languages simply by exposing them to more input more frequently then they would otherwise be exposed to. I just

In my opinion the issue with most language programs is that they focus too early on speaking when listening should be the focus early on. Really speaking shouldn't even come into the picture until exposure of about a year and something

I've honestly never thought about this issue until reading it. I wonder why they couldn't make registration-free eSIMs like they have with physical SIMs. That would be a major inconvenience when traveling otherwise.

This is just an extension of the ISO Open Font Format (Opentype). I think it's great because it's so far the only standard way to specify color needed to render emojis.

It would be very useful if this or some other library came with Captcha solvers or a way to add Captcha solvers to the scrapers. Even regular users get Captchas sometimes.

Off the top of my head: Multi-threaded C++ is one. Odin lang has poor support for many debugger features. The Chromium Project can be way too slow to run in a debugger. Even just debugging the Content Shell can be very slow.

I'm getting more into using debuggers lately. They can really help they just take time to learn. As to why they are a last resort. For me it was just having to learn the debugger and also setting up the debugging environment. For every

I like the idea of stashing tabs for later. But doesn't saving to bookmarks remove the History of the tab in the process? That's what I think we need is a way to save the whole session of the tab. Not just the last page. Or maybe

I've been thinking about this lately for a SDL project I'm working on. So far there doesn't seem to be any guide to doing accessibility from scratch. My plan is to test with the Orca screen reader from Gnome.
