If California and New York are the two worst states for businesses, then why are so many tech companies in California, and financial companies in New York? Yes there are more regulations in California, but clearly they are missing somethin

My high school had a good response to the criticism that tracking is elitist or that it prevents students from switching tracks. Rather than the school deciding your track (regular, advanced, AP), the student decided which level they wante

In my limited experience with both successful and unsuccessful patent applications, the first response from the patent office is often a "nonfinal rejection" due to obviousness (section 103 rejection). In response, you should present evide

I've worked in a US hospital for a few years, and I've never seen a bacteria that was resistant to all antibiotics, but I have seen people die from bacterial infections. So I think the media focus on drug-resistant bacteria is oversimplifi

It makes more sense for 2^3^4 = 2^(3^4). If you meant (2^3)^4, then it would be more efficient to calculate 2^(3*4), because exponentiation takes much longer than multiplication. On a related note, in Excel, -1^2 = 1 because they are calcu

I personally have been very happy with my decision to go into medicine (specifically, interventional radiology). I have a few comments about this discussion: 1. The average radiologist gets paid about $40 (after expenses) to read a CT sca
