I wonder if a nice source available license comes about, similar to how we have common ones for FOSS like MIT which are well understood and easy to apply. A source available license allowing for personal modifications, sharing with other li

Can I recommend dropping the use of royal we, with respect to how you describe your work on the project. This is usually a lot more common in software projects, and it doesn't come across well when most the effort is clearly (at least

It has its applications in a different way, tool assisted level design. Software suites like Houdini, which is something of an industry standard in VFX and gamedev can potentially leverage ML techniques. AFAIK the folks who make Houdini hav

The mundane of today is very insightful for tomorrow's historians. Its fascinating when you start looking into any historical time period (you wouldn't even need to go far back), before a lot of details are educated guesses. Since

That doesn't address the concern re: something needing critical mass to increase its chance of survival over a longer term. Really the way I see it outside a few large banking firms, its kind of hard to be sure any provider of digital

It looks to me like Terminus (the app) decided to re-name themselves of their own accord. Granted it could be seen as doing so per-emptively. > Terminus is too close to Termius - a commercial terminal app. This causes a number of users

The upsert strategy mentioned (using ON CONFLICT to update instead of insert) has a catch, if your PK is a sequence it will increment even though the insert has failed. It's not a huge deal in most cases, is a bigger issue if you are r

A bit off topic but notice you have a golang version of your JSON parser lib as well. Is there any specific strategy you follow WRT building JSON parsers that you found lacking in std lib implementations in order consider writing your own?

I usually ignore those and bundle a bunch in a single PR. The worst I found was another team which merges in depandabot PR's one by one. Their git history isn't pleasant to look through :(
