But, we already have (exclusively) used car dealerships and private car sales. Once you break it down, dealerships not a combination of businesses that really needs to be together, IMO.

I mean, there is usually a pass to resolve labels, right? So it's not quite that simple. But not far from it.

This comment sort of messed with my brain. We have a somewhat sane definition, but we can’t use said definition because we don’t feel like it, and that makes everything clearer (“language would be impossible”). Feel free to define your own

I feel like you didn't read what they said. There's a ton of things in any large corporation that need to be handled that need software or corporate admin work. Inventory management, logistics, people management software, end user

I like to see innovation in aerospace, but there seems to be a lot of either solution searching for a problem or problems I’d rather not see solved (weaponry). This is one of them. Spinlaunch is another (the Gs). Astra is yet another (“laun

When I first starting using AWS a few years ago, having known generally what it was for far longer, I was flabbergasted it was at how slow it was to get an instance booted. I expected much less, thinking about things from first principals

The “umpteen rules”, I presume, are the ones for all the languages you know and use, not just Clojure or what have you. I would wager most people don’t work in a single language bubble. It’s a bit optimistic that we’d ever have most languag

Uhm, yes? They elected a comedian with no political experience or ties for f's sake. But I suppose that was some sort of rigged election or he's just a figurehead or something?

That was significantly less funny, I think :(. Regardless of cat vs dog. More just funny dog pictures than ones connected to the status codes.

For concrete comparison, nginx backs something like 40% of the top 10k websites. Caddy is a fraction of a percent.

It stands out because this brand is superior to Tesla in every way, including innovation (because safety is valued), yet somehow Tesla has pranced around falsely claiming to be better at safety than Volvo. The singular redeemable

Making predictions about something that’s only been around in any significant way for a decade and is subject to so many social, political, and economic pressures (extremely chaotic in themselves) is probably pretty fraught.

The thing is, you can trivially implement a form of defer with RAII. Where I work we have a decades old C++ macro called ON_BLOCK_EXIT that people use to clean up C-style things that don't have a destructor. Today it's much better

APUs are AMD-speak for CPU and GPU on the same die (Intel has similar but doesn't call them that). Integrated graphics cards (a misnomer since there is no card -- IGP or iGPU is probably more accurate) may or may not be on the same die

I absolutely despise that auto route change feature. Whether (but especially) on a motorcycle or in a car. It’s dangerous and it fills me with rage. Also, that software is so non-configurable these days: Is an “Automatically accept better

For all the kvetching about ads I see regarding YouTube, most people really could just pay Google and make it go away. I mean, I don’t like paying for things either, but it’s not worth the headache of ad blockers (which aren’t available on

It would be easier to have a frank discussion without using “grooming” where it should not be. Seems to be a lot of that recently, with other words and terms as well, which is sad.
