If you are interested in the Pi also check out the BeagleBone. I love how easy everything with the Pi was. I'm hoping to do more home automation with either another Pi or a BeagleBone. As for now my Pi is controlling our detached garag

True, but I'm also saying that Instagram had 13 employees at the time of being bought out. I don't have any numbers of users they had at the time but I know they had 1M+ new users on their Android launch. Which makes me assume a l

Well I used the term software shop loosely. Both are fairly large in their reach nationally. The one I worked at did hosting in the building as well. No more than half a dozen on the IT staff, hosting hundreds of clients who had numerous em

Not to sound stupid, but this question has been on my mind. Why does Twitter have so many employees? Wikipedia says it's 900+ as of last year. Instagram had 13 when being bought out by Facebook, I think I read recently they are up to 5

Congrats on the launch, but with the slow launch and Google Reader shutdown I have to say I'm out. I used Reeder daily for 2+ years, but it's been deleted from my phone for months now. None of the solutions compare to Google Reade

Python also has a large amount of Scientific packages and draws a number of people from that field. Not sure how much that helps the marketshare though. I don't think it's strictly a Rails/Django thing.

Regarding #1, EDTX allows any attorney of any state bar, not just of Texas to be admitted to practice. I live within a 30 minute drive to Marshall, TX. There are plenty of lawyers and attorneys around their courthouse too, which I have to i

I second that opinion. The BeagleBone Black has a whole lot more pins available. Some of those pins are ADC (8), PWM (8), and I2C (2). I think the Pi only has 1 PWM and 1 I2C. I'm looking at a BeagleBone Black for in use of a robot I want t

I got the scholarship in 2007 and 2008, it was a great experience. In 2007 they had a deal with a nearby hotel, maybe Pickwick? I don't think they did in 2008. I'd try to beg, borrow, and steal to get there if I were you for the experience.

Good for them on following through, I'm sure it will bring repeat business. Maybe 6-7+ years ago I attempted to make multiple purchases through dell.com over several months. All 3 were killed because the website listed the wrong price. I re

I don't know too much about hardware, enough to solve simple issues like this. The relay simply closes the circuit as if I pressed the wall switch. The Pi has header pins with power, ground, and programmable pins. Check out the WiringPi pag

I picked up a Model B from Amazon earlier this month, here in the US. I have been really impressed with it, even though I paid ~$48. Very impressive device in such a little package. I used mine to make a WiFi garage door opener with node.js

Noticed the Pocket extension for Chrome started doing that recently. If you open the extensions page there is an options link for the Pocket plugin. In there it has a few sites it appends the links to that you can enable/disable

I had "3" grandmothers. One was a step grandmother from remarriage. Shockingly they all died before big events in school. Never used it as an excuse though.

Our Comcast modem fee went from $0 -> $3 -> $5 -> $8 in a years time between 2010-2011. No notice on 2 of those fee changes. Once it finally reached $8 last year I bought my own Docsis 3 modem for ~$70 and gave back the Docsis 2
