They did not roll their own crypto, it's using AES with Diffie-Hellman key generation. [0] You can now argue whether that's still "from scratch". (Is building something on top of TCP "from scratch"?) [0] http:

Well, that user also posted over 60 links in the last year, while never receiving a single upvote or comment. I'm not sure why a flesh-and-blood user would still be posting after that.

There are some valid use cases for this. "Read All Contacts" is often required to optionally invite your friends. "List running Apps" for crash-reports.

PayPal takes 2,9 to 3,9% plus a base transaction fee[0], so their share of the pie would be at least $928000. [0] https://www.paypal.com/webapps/mpp/paypal-fees

The German Pirate Party worked with this concept, calling it "Liquid Democracy"[0] and using the software LiquidFeedback[1]. AFAIK they abandoned it when discussions grew too large. [0] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki

It briefly crossed the 200€ mark yesterday. Maybe a lot of people wanted to cash out at that point. As soon as the price was dropping, more people decided it was a good time to sell.

Looks like they use a point when the campaign is in EUR and a comma when it is in USD or GBP. With the exception of Ireland, that pretty much matches the map from the wiki article. But I think they should rather honor the user's locale in a

Please point me to where I can buy non-public data about potential backpack purchasers (or any person for that matter) from Apple/Google/Microsoft. Until then, your statements are nothing more than FUD.

You could create a login-token signed with your bitcoin private key. Wallet software would have to implement that, though.

Cyanogen, the initial author, was hired by Samsung some time ago. But CM is still a volunteer project, the developers don't get monetary compensation for their work, so there's nothing to buy out.
