Unix had high goals but ended up compromising. It's been a good system, good enough to fend off other system competitors. Trying to argue details using precedence and pointing to the exceptions and compromises to prop up arguments do

If anything the whole systemd mess has put more attention on the init system and dependencies. There's plenty of drama and its a modern vi/emacs kde/gnome fight that people are passionate about. I think what burns a lot of u

I would really like it if they did lgpl with a static link exception. dynamic can be a pain to deal with cross platform.

vim is already too slow (i typically code edit with elvis which is good but not for huge text data files). evil's lagginness is utterly maddenning. and emacs isn't typically installed everywhere. i'm a multi terminal user

The bigger problem are the TSA agents operating the scanners. They are constantly getting exposed to these machines during their workshift. I think that's the biggest upcoming "disaster" surrounding these lame ineffective sc

And your point is? A lot of lame people graduated from Harvard. A bunch of them. And they have no clue how economics work. 96% of political contributions from ivy league staff and faculty went to obama, not romney. Looks like GW was a y

sattelites dont commercially provide 6 inch. its all aerial. 1m accuracy is very poor for things like property boundary checks, etc. Fine for getting to your destination, however.

Nintendo seems like it's firmly attached to a narrow business plan and wants to ride that into the ground. At the very least they could be toying with the phone market by releasing mini-games or something under a "nintendo mobile

gnumeric is excellent. ive seen far to many people trying to use a spreadsheet like a general document processor. just use a spreadsheet for what it's good at doing: operating on columns (or rows) of numbers!
