When teachers are also parents how will schools staff classes on day five? Work week length might be an all or nothing proposition.

A lot of my ebooks are sitting in Apple Books for the convenience of syncing, this looks like it has the ability to do better library management and metadata editing. Fingers crossed it continues to thrive.

Got it, thanks. A blind spot on my part there. It's funny how quickly the concept of losing access to a phone has taken root, I'm fortunate to have never had that happen to me and I need to remember how easily it could.

I wouldn't know, but doesn't the point still hold if I can sell (let's say) 1000 tickets at movie ticket prices, which I wouldn't otherwise have been able to sell? Call it $15 * 1000 people ... ? I think the made up hypo

Really? We're talking about a transformation from a fixed and time-bound asset, the live experience of being physically present, into an entirely digital experience which can be replayed. Doesn't this change the potential customer

Just chiming in to ask -- the immediate need for account recovery is in cases with lost or forgotten passwords. Am I right in assuming that account recovery becomes a much smaller attack surface when using passkeys? Or are there scenarios I

I would speculate that roles which are filled through networking never get to the posting / interview stage. If that were the case it would make sense that being involved with interview boards would lead to seeing very few candidates g

While that sounds like it would unlock some very cool experiences it also scares me to think about the potential abuses of making personalized voice models fairly easily available. It seems like the sort of thing that would need to stay sec

It's all well and good that the copyright office deems that protection only applies to the parts of the work where a human was in control of the traditional elements of authorship, and that there is a duty to disclose the use of genera

You mention that removing the DRM isn’t exactly legal— is this something that right to repair would address? Are there places where DRM circumvention is legal? I had thought that at least in some jurisdictions breaking the DRM on things you

First, even if the book lost copyright protection people would still be free to support the author by buying copies, Second, if the book lost copyright protection wouldn’t Donald, losing that revenue stream, then be motivated to replace it

I wonder - is there an existing script / tool that allows a user to copy a chunk of text and then automatically apply their private key to sign the text and paste it back with the signature?

Yep, those two specific examples are pointing to events that don’t really happen in the books. It’s actually a good illustration of the kind of specific false facts that tend to crop up.
