I don't know about "enormous cost"... if we're assuming that you can handle taxes this year, the changes to support next year have to be comparatively minor. It's definitely true that you need to keep current or th

In the US, there's an informal hierarchy of what kinds of cuisine can be "fancy" and demand an above-average price. French, obviously, and most other Western European cuisines can be fancy. Which isn't to say that there

You're not wrong, the universe with SameSite available is safer than the ones without it. The migration is just frustratingly painful for those of us stuck between slow framework updates, unsupported browsers, and customers who are slo

My understanding of "virtue signalling" is that it contains the notion that the proclaimed position isn't sincerely held and that it is professed solely as a performance for others. "Grandstanding" is being loud a

Exactly. I don't want to assume gp doesn't understand the difference between unit and integration tests, but I think the only alternative conclusion is they don't think there is value in unit tests. I disagree, and happily in

Sure, it's a common pattern and the right one in many scenarios. But especially for non-cloud deployments it's very common to store session data in process memory or temp data to local disk, etc.

That's not what I've understood "stateless" to mean. Sure, anything more complicated than a calculator app is going to rely on data stored elsewhere, and in Lambda world that means you're reading from DynamoDB, S3,
