Caps blow by thermal runaway when they get too old (far out of spec) or are run out of spec. Was repair attempted it or was it just thrown away? Things can look cooked, but they're often easily repairable. Far too often, most consume

Pretty silly to take things way too seriously and hate on a decent hypothetical gaming opportunity, don't you think? With perfect security hygiene, more things are attainable. But an even more perfect crime is hedging both sides of an

Not news. Snapchat has what's important: Panama canals of recurrent eyeballs. They can roll out freemium, ads and ecosystem platform apps and monetize easily. They'd rather grow a bit before tinkering too much and putting off u

Yeah, they're very different properties. Supercapacitors deliver a ton of power but hold a small fraction of the energy of a similar li-po battery.

This and supercapacitors blur the "lines" of technologies of batteries and capacitors. I hope they can boost the power greater than li-po. Btw: Here's a capacitor lifetime calculator with equations. http://www.i

It's a good thing CloudVolumes (aka SnapVolumes, basically VM-side volume unioning for VDI and server app containers a-la Softricity) sold to VMware when they did about 2 years ago. The core idea of app executables and libraries as op

What's the point? Tarsnap is modestly cheap and extremely secure, and there other backup services which are equally cheap and almost as secure. Use at least 2x services always, so Tarsnap going down or bust (heaven forbid) isn't
