I don't know if they used such a method, but it is possible to provide a proof for the key before it is actually useful. E.g. everyone provides a hash for their key first, and the actual key a some seconds later, when all the hashes f

A lot of people say that lightweight desktops/distros help. Probably GNOME/KDE unnecessarily use your SSD, network, GPU and other resources even when you are idle, compared to using a minimal WM and only starting the daemons you a

Let T^S = {f| f:S->T} be all functions from a source set S to a target structure (set + operations + relations + axioms) T. You can lift all the operations and relations from T to T^S, and you'll get a structure with the same type s

~a month ago I saw a comment on HN someone stating that the only possible way to send data from computer to phone is to convert it to base64, open it in a text file (several pages), photo them, OCR them and convert them back on the phone. T

Indeed, an update can't be more malicious than the permissions allow it to be. You have a calculator app with limited permissions, it is "safe" to set to allow the developer to update it. No danger in that. But I don't t

I believe GP meant that the idea of C/C++ should be abandoned, that is, that C and C++ are compatible languages. GP thinks that they should diverge more when necessary, none of them should be held back for the compatibility with the ot

Knowing Microsoft, it will be both. That is, ship every runtime ever provided. Win32, Linux kernel, GNU and NT kernel, all of them. Ms already ships a Linux kernel, and msys2/git bash, and they won't stop doing it.

You don't have to use recursion, that is, you don't need language support for it. Having first class (named) functions is enough. For example you can modify sum such that it doesn't depend on itself, but it depends on a func
