Planet Money did a piece using lots of clips from the This American Life episode, where someone 'doubts' that it's IV, but that they're still an interested party. http://www.npr.org/blogs/money/2011/07/26/138576167/when-pat...

I'm not sure how Teti's was worded, but I can't imagine Mocek's is any better - it's asking in regards to assets owned by the datacenter's owners. Edit: Just was there are more FOI requests on that site for the same information

Better safe than sorry. After the DDoS, CCP took the entirety of EVE down to do a security audit. Minecraft seems sure that it was only a DDoS, but they don't personal details on their servers like CCP does.

If you don't quit the project all the time folks will assume you're associated/endorsing the repo. "You've just been given commit rights to kkk/meeting-minutes" wouldn't be a good message to get after you've told a prospective employer to h

That's the kind of thinking Josh calls out in the article. Redis is great in most of the use cases for replicated Mongo if you're gearing the rest of your architecture to use it properly.

It's a DRM'd copy[1], and which devices it's supported on depend on the studio (and other mysterious factors). Some will work on iPod & PSP, some only work on Windows. [1] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_copy

Yeah, articles on /. were approved by CmdrTaco et al. Digg was basically the first to let users vote on stories to get them to the front page.

Their defense essentially places the onus on their processor (JPMorgam Chase) to employ "risk mitigation" techniques we all admonish PayPal for. I guess the question is this: why not use smartcards or RFID? Other countries have for years. W

Not sure that's better than the Wiki article, but the PostGIS mention is really handy if you're generalizing data for maps or to make paths from GPS data. Protip: If you set the epsilon low enough, the PostGIS implementation has a good chan
