The simulator under the hood is cool - someone even got a component to smoke. But the post leads with a pretty condescending title that focuses on aesthetic motivations by dumping (superficially) on everything else. Naturally people are goi

Honest question: are low income users viable for an ad supported platform? As it is I think only North American online ads actually make decent money, though perhaps European and Asian ad markets also deliver value close to break even. It i

I think you might be coming from a different socioeconomic perspective. The legions of C and B students would suggest that most kids do not have the means to buy someone else’s work. As for the viability of an ai detector, if a human can’t

ICANN allows anyone to create a domain. You need to pay a bunch of fees to register it and service it but it is not that much. In this case I believe Google created these domains for internal tools and they have owned them ever since.

People have food. There is more than enough food for everyone in the US. The US produces a large surplus. The federal government intervenes with generous subsidies, to guarantee over production.

Taking this comment seriously I would actually really support a more walking centered park system. You are correct that a lot of most parks are situated very far from roads, but in a lot of parks the best places are close to the roads. Pers

If you are trying to root out corruption and waste in the Federal Government I would suggest looking beyond the Park Service. They are asked to do a lot (more each year) with a very small budget (that does not keep pace with inflation or th

This would be a more reasonable critique if the Democrats had not been the minority party in the US Senate from 2012-2020. For the last 2 years they only have 51-50 tie breaking lead in the Senate which give a very slim margin to get anythi

In the case of Apple I think if you look at the mobile phone usage of people in the top 25% of incomes in America you would find that they are well over 80% market share. While this is a somewhat contrived segmentation, it is also most impo

There are more Forrests in the US now than there were in 1922. Technically, yes we have more trees now than the historic minimum... As per the Wikipedia[1]: The US reached its historic minimal forrest coverage around 1920 with ~720 M acres.

Scuba diving is a fundamentally dangerous and expensive hobby. I don't know if this will make a big dent in the cost of a dive. FWIW a snorkel and a pair of fins are pretty cheap. For ~$50 you can have a lot of fun swimming around expl

It was high. America is historically one of the more educated countries. During the civil war literacy among native born whites was over 90%. By WWI I believe it was over 95%, and by WWII it was nearly universal among native born adults.

Nope. In most states (CA for example) it is a felony to sell stolen goods when the amount exceeds a pretty modest threshold. If, as alleged in the parent comment, they are committing a crime on a large scale then the blame is very well plac
