I understand iOS7 will govern abuse/excessive background fetching. But seems unfortunate it can't cater for legitimate scheduled background fetching - e.g. updating all my podcasts every day at 8am. In this case my phone would be

This worked for me: Once the phone is in your basket, hit tab until the focus is on the proceed button. Then hold enter until finally it succeeds (took about 30s for me). Now just a "6-7 week" wait for delivery. In other words, the phone ca

The S3 and Note 2 have a Samsung-tweaked version of Android. These amount to some different apps, slightly altered UI and in the case of the Note 2 some tweaks to accommodate the stylus. It's not bad, but most prefer stock Android for the c

I did this last time around. A guy had to come to my house, lay cable and leave a box under my TV - only so I could take it all back a month later. Comcast have have spammed me with roughly two "come back" letters a month ever since. It blo

Thanks so much for letting us know! Fixed now. Hope you enjoy building with Trigger.io - let us know how you get on :)

There are a few good options for debugging. Trigger has the Catalyst debugging tool which brings a Webkit-style debugging interface to mobile development ( https://trigger.io/catalyst/ ). You can run apps in the simulator and on connected d

A slight increase in "virality" can make the difference in the success/failure of an app - surely worth a small increase in time. In reality, frameworks like Trigger.io make it straightforward to access native functionality in a few lines o

Yes, this was certainly questioned. His threads on internal engineering lists (adopting this tone after just a few months at Google) are somewhat legendary. I'd caution anyone from forming an impression of the company from mchurch.

Disagree it's disingenuous. I'm a web developer without any mobile experience. I accept there will be some performance impact from using a web bridge. However, I want to minimize this as far as possible - and all the studies show millisecon

I've been playing with the new Trigger.io framework and really like it so far. Simple and very fast command line build tools (a new build takes around a second) and a decent JS API for native functionality. It creates desktop browser plugin

This is looking really interesting. I'm a web developer and dabbled with Phonegap/Appcelerator before - would happily trade complexity for simple command line tools and speed. Being able to output browser plugins from the same code is a nic

Great. I wondered if you could take whatever you're using for the "Best Value" ordering and display that metric in the boxes (so no need for more analysis). Maybe you could store which models are always hatchbacks and always sedans, as a st

Love it! Searching on value feels like it'd be useful for a trader, but not necessarily an individual with a strict price limit. How about adding a value measure to the boxes? Then users could sort by price but still pick out the real barga

What is to stop them hosting JQuery themselves? Or using a different Analytics platform? Neither would be "virtually impossible".

Love this. A true "why hasn't anyone done this?" moment for me. If they can expand the range of providers to be competitive with Kayak and Skyscanner I'd make this my first and only stop. Speaking of travel visualizations... a shameless plu

OK so I've looked into this more. From what I understand the difference is: - Appcelerator transforms HTML and JS (built around its own client library) into native apps with native components. - Sencha builds HTML5 sites using CSS3 to mimic

Curious to understand whether Appcelerator is the best choice currently for building native apps based on HTML5 and JS. I'd like to build an app for iPad and Android tablets so HTML5 seems the way to go. I've looked at Appcelerator and also
