Signal Server isn't some open source library you drop into a project. It's an application run in production on a shoestring budget. Have a look at the PRs that are have been opened (that have or have not been merged): https:/

This is just plain false. This search engine is advertising anonymity. You don't get that when searching Google, which is encrypted with TLS...

Indeed, if TLS is compromised many security guarantees of the web break down.

It sounds like a mistake, the robots incorrectly tagged you. I wouldn't interpret any ill will because of it. Also sounds like they approved your account shortly after so it's hard to see anything that negative here...

I don’t think pointing out nazis at the capitol is politics. Healthcare policy is politics, the election is politics. Pointing out nazis at an armed insurrection? No.

Courts can only adjudicate based on the law. There's little to adjudicate in these matters because the law protects platforms for content posted. The real shortcoming in these matters is a total lack of legislation that reflects the wo

I've heard a few references to the Masteriece Cakeshop decision in a few social medial channels I'm on ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Masterpiece_Cakeshop_v._Colora... ). I think the comparison is pretty unhel

Well, people tend to actually use it in real life. edit: Signal protocol also has message deniability, future and forward secrecy. OpenPGP lacks these properties.

There's more content on these platforms than anyone can view. Therefore, platforms must make decisions about what to show to users. In service of growth, platforms often _choose_ content that users are likely to watch and share. This t

If you're referring to the fact DOE controls our nuclear arsenal, then sure. Not a lot else at DOE directly contributes to national security that I'm aware of. They sure do fund cool basic science research though.

I'm very curious what "banning" predictive policing even means here. In the broadest sense, predictive policing is using data to inform where crime will happen in the future. Is this to say you can't use historical trend

It's a problem of limited resource allocation. The _point_ is that we have limited tests, so given limited supply why are we wasting the tests on those we think are sick. The limited supply could still be directed towards asymptomatic
