I felt the same way about "C++" postincrement, returns C. This seems more like it should be a predecrement (--C) because it does not return C, rather assembly. EDIT: changed, I said decrement and meant increment.

What do you guys use on your phone (if you use an app on the phone)? I have been using an app called "Hacker News 2" in the play store. I generally like it, but the comments are flaky, sometimes it lets me see them and other times

I read the article and think that he/she makes a good point. The point this person is trying to hit is: does this imply that more people do not like the style of older bicycles or that people are making lifestyle changes to ride bikes

Awesome how much creativity these hackers had. The graphics are surprisingly pretty amazing for some of this stuff.

I was sad that I couldn't figure out how to run this. :-( It did not run for me in the web console in firefox: [10:15:03.006] TypeError: this.candies is undefined but then I realized how useful the lollypop farm is and was quite happy.

I would like the FAQ and search moved to the top navigation bar. I did not know that there was a search and FAQ for a while and only found the FAQ through google before finding the bottom navigation. The top navigation makes you think that

I tried to make it clear in my original comment that you wouldn't even need the Go environment if there was just a binary distributed, so I agree with you on that. I also realize that this is in the early stages of the development proc

Indeed. I think I stated that you could just build a binary. This could also be released as a binary package (which is likely what would happen if it gains traction). I mean just to get a screenshot this is quite a bit of downloading. Then

If it was just about apps, why wouldn't they release OS X for all x86* architectures instead of just their hardware? Then projects such as hackintosh/osx86 would be irrelevant.

Depends on how old your computer is and what you do with it I guess. EDIT:Also if this is the only program using go I now have a 300 MB text editor.

Sorry for the naievety, but it's not just modules that are inserted into the kernel that provide the support that they need (I am not a systems/kernel programmer)? And in that case, could they license the modules separately?

Good point. It's an error tradeoff between detecting too many false flamewars and not detecting enough flamewars. It might be kind of interesting to study the effects in terms of bias on the actual reported articles vs the submitted ar

On ArchLinux Go is pretty massive ~294 MB (compared to the jdk7-openjdk at ~19MB) installed. I, personally, have avoided installing some small programs because they had Go as a dependency, obviously you can compile a binary to resolve this

I felt this way as well. On an interview why would you give a really specific answer to a really general question? I don't think it's that most people can't answer like this, rather that it's not what was asked.

Not a plugin but a windows program (don't know if it works on win7, I run linux now) called faststone capture can move the scrollbar and take screenshots. The current version (7.6) is paid: http://www.faststone.org/FSCa

If you put it in your PS1 then it will make a request every time your PS1 is printed, but it shouldn't be hard to have it cache and check timestamps.

I'm a student so take it with a grain of salt, but when I have precisely 1 beer, I tend to be a little more relaxed and program better. That being said, I wouldn't want to have beer constantly available, especially at work.

Perhaps locking the DOM is a good trait if you can communicate between the main thread and the webworkers then you can request that the main thread changes the DOM and synchronize, without this you might get unexpected behavior anyways?
