Seems like mostly changes for production users vs. researchers. Not that there's any particular feature I'm dying for as a researcher (though a deterministic reduce_sum would be nice). Is pytorch more directly pursuing the "f

Sure. The point of those examples is to use familiar operations to help the reader understand how the notation works, and show the generality.

I agree, shipping full audio tracks is somehow too "easy". Also really love C64 SID music and Amiga tracker music.

Same thing happened with desktop PC's around when the Core 2 Duo came out and 1080p lcd displays became standard. The machines can do most of the stuff we want them to do.

Librem lacks HiDPI. Is there a Linux optimized laptop with HiDPI and a near-apple quality trackpad?

Totally agree. Recently used unique_ptr with a custom deleter is to consume a C library that requires heap allocation with its own alloc/free functions. No destructor!

Doubtful since the ideas behind ray tracing are very mature. Advances in real time ray tracing will take the form "x advancement in offline ray tracing from 30 years ago can now be done in real time."

Is there a pressing need to replace wood? I think, at least in the USA, most wooden goods are made from cheap soft woods that grow quickly, and can basically be treated as an agricultural commodity. Are trees inefficient at converting light

This specific aphorism is given as advice by some well known MIT public speaking guy. I think people take it too literally and make an outline slide that's like "motivation, problem statement, method, experiments." So useful.

Building strings in C can be painful, but parsing them is not too bad. I suppose security is another big concern, especially with something built explicitly to process user-supplied data.

The title is absurdly reductive. Anyone interested in graphs should be encouraged to learn about shortest paths, max flow, spanning trees, etc. and to identify some of the major np-hard graph problems. "Addition - the one Arithmetic Al
