I f'in hate this thing. I've used it on my partner's car, and it doesn't compare to a few real purpose driven buttons. Try adjusting which vents are blowing, or something like that. Total PITA!

Touch screens are a cheap way to create modular displays: they can be reused for any "app". They're upgradeable and skinnable. In a car, maybe they have a place for people who want customization; my personal take is the oppos

In a sense, it's interesting that we (social network users) once found the activities of our friends and acquaintances "interesting", but that's largely been subjugated to simply "interesting things are interesting&

This comment has drawn the ire of hackernews, simply for posing it, with a slight tilt. The general consensus seems to be that good QA is highly valuable. As for if their pay were unfair, would they not leave for a better pay/safer wo

Is hackernews on the side of QA people? What’s the general feeling? I can’t see their working conditions being genuinely terrible or unsafe, or the pay being that unfair. Perhaps they’re being driven too hard?

Education in the broadest sense isn’t all positive. It comes at a cost of time and money. There are certainly institutions and endeavors that might not have a yield on the time and money spent. For profit colleges capitalizing on student lo

I can't believe this comment hasn't been downvoted into oblivion, but I tend to agree. It's a markov model. Educated people care about educating their children. Uneducated either a) want their kid to be the first to reach hig

Appreciate the driver insight here! We often play off “the good old days” before tech took over industry X. Nice to know history isn’t all roses and sugar in reality.

My self-esteem is fine! A 5 is not bad : half of people are prettier than me, half are less pretty. But calling a "5" a "1" is a little mean, no? ;-) Don't really care.

Americans need to start realizing that a 100 year old building isn't historical; it's just old and may have outlasted it's useful life. That said, we also need to start modeling our cities based on the success we see outside
