This really annoys me. That was well over a decade ago. There is so much to criticize FB for right now. Do we really need to be so petty and oversensitive to always bring up an offhand remark he made as a college student?

what? studies with control groups aren't interesting or convincing? this seems like a long-winded way of saying "obviously this was true", which is a ridiculous attitude towards science (social science in particular)

that's a pretty silly comment to make.. 1. there are exceptions to many rules. 2. how did Whittaker mismanage his winnings? A series of misfortunes does not tell us anything about his ability to manage his wealth.

Noticed this as well. I've learned to identify pretty quickly whether a section is merely descriptive. Being able to skim is a pretty valuable skill imo. That's not to say that such detail isn't valuable, of course. But, at l

Personally I enjoy yogurt that is more drinkable. Anyone here try Beijing yogurt before? Wondering what kind of products are similar here in the US. I've seen some comparisons to kefir but I haven't yet gotten to try it.

weird to say "formal Ottoman lands", the Ottomans were only a thing starting in the 1300s. But technically correct, as some cursory searches suggest that the consensus on yogurt's origins is 5000-6000 BC, around Central Asia&

I don't know about legality, but imo there is an argument to be made that it's very unethical to feign ignorance as to what the vast majority associates "autopilot" with.

I really appreciate this comment, for offering an alternative perspective. It's easier to dehumanize someone after labeling them as a psychopath. I believe there are a few studies that claim psychopathy is overrepresented in the busine

make the link for me between CA housing prices and the federal government. > And we're well aware that California isn't fond of us either I think you need to find some less biased news sources.

I appreciate the insight. There is more nuance here than my comment would suggest. What I said probably applies more to the initial investors, before Theranos was fully exposed as fraudulent.

unbelievable. After seeing this, can anyone doubt that luck is a major factor in success? These investors won't even take the time to do the most basic due diligence. They have no business managing millions of dollars.

I use GPM, but that's because of the bundling with Youtube Red. I would prefer Spotify for a desktop app, nicer looking UI IMO, and so Google doesn't know my music prefs. But for now, ad-free YT is too nice to give up.

It may not be good art, it may not be meaningful art, but it is art. Claiming that it isn't creates more problems than it solves. And this isn't directed at you - but let me just make this clear. Orchestral performances are art. S
