If anyone wants to try it with an esp32: https://github.com/DaveBben/esp32-llm needs a board with PSRAM but they are surprisingly plenty these days - almost standard. I tried it a few months back.

I find that message very curious because the message itself clearly does not cost much but the machines it is send on do. So the more messages that are send the less the messages will cost.

the numbers in the article are all over the place. I mean the article seems to try and some of the more general calculations on paper should work out but especially the image gen ones I can sorta disprove with my own experiences in local ge

I loved that show. It showed how children deal with new technology different from how adults deal with it. It predated even google glass by half a decade.

yes, this can cause even major-ish UI issues - like in android where this happens: cut, copy, paste auschneiden, kopieren, einfügen this can break the UI so you have scroll on a popup just to copy a piece of text because google put

I have a 9070 XT... rockm ATM is unoptimized for it and the generation speed is less than what it should be if AMD isn't fudging the specs. Also the memory management is dire / buggy and will cause random OOMs on one ruin then be

I think AI could actually makes it fairer for the average player because it "smears" the time a bit to a general "vibe". That said I too was a bit annoyed by how it rendered the byzantine empire. I thought Carthage was m

RE: the external clock - in my setup I got the power draw down to ~24µA with just a crystal but its possible that a completely external wakeup could be lower. Not that i think it makes a difference with that dev board :) You inspired me to

I made my own version of this and I am seeing a lot of interesting choices so I am intrigued. The lack of soldering means you probably don't do that normally. I find it wild that you used a dev board because the LDOs on them are most o

I did a bit of research and even water just "involved" in the process is counted as used in this context. For instance river water that is used for cooling and returned is counted. I think these sort of graphs are simply misleadin

The one near here just has heat exchanges. But even if all the others use evaporators then potential water usage is extremely misleading because its not like the water is consumed - its just temporarily unavailable. Also why doesn't up

what does "water used by data center" even mean? Does it consume the water somehow? What does it turn into? Steam? So uploading a 1GB file boils away nearly 1 liter of water? Or is it turned into bits somehow in some kind of mass

Quassel IRC is another solution for this - it also works extremely well with the only downside being that it isn't tunneled over HTTP/S by default. Oh and it is self-hosted. I can recommend it for a Windows/Linux/Android
