He's a human being who also happens to be the head of a public corporation. We can't expect every single action he takes at every point to be filtered into legalese. IMO, if he had said this in an earnings call, or presented it i

There are lots of ways of accomplishing that without the things that causes twitter to be particularly toxic.

Yes this is very common. Most people I know use a bank card, which is powered by Visa's payment network, and ran as credit.

I don't think I follow you here. What consumer protections does visa offer me if I am using it as a bank card?

Visa and mastercard should be careful they don't compete their way out of a market. Stripe, square, apple, google, samsung, etc; there is no reason these companies couldn't band together to create their own clearing system. Visa a

Since these threads often become: patterns I think are stupid. On the Xbox One (which runs the home theater in our house): it hides the characters of your password, which I think is somewhat silly to begin with, but you type it in with a gi

I too get annoyed at seeing this fun fact. It's really hard to engineer something that will last 90 days. It's much easier to overbuilld it, which fulfills the requirement of 90 days. It was designed to last as long as possible w

IMO this is a bug to users of twitter, but a feature to twitter the for profit company. It encourages fuzzy communication, and usually the least charitable interpretations. Basically it's tailored to push your emotional button.

In seemingly every one of these cases of "corporation doesn't pay TAXES!", it's more along the lines (to use your analogy) of: in 2017, Netflix dredged out a canal to allow access to another waterway. in 2018, they added

I wonder if we're confusing some terms here. When you are saying "the dark net", are you specifically talking about darknet markets? So, for instance: there aren't hosted forums, or other repositories of information? H

Maybe we're talking about different things. I don't mean "looking for things" as in: "looking for things to purchase". I mean that I'm looking for the weird hackery message boards of my youth.

What I've been looking for is just a way to limit bandwidth down to something very small for certain tabs/pages. So, for instance: Washington post/buzzfeed/huffingtonpost/vox/vice etc. all get limited down to

Is it, though? Do you have first hand knowledge of this? Every time I try to look at things on "the dark web", I read through hidden wiki, see a few completely empty forums, laugh, then turn tor back off.

I mean, probably a stage union? The issue is we weren't just putting up flats and hanging lights. This was all completely custom fabricated stuff for a trade show.

Unions aren't doing themselves any favors. I worked a job in NYC once installing a custom stage/set that we had built in Phoenix. It was full of arduinos, custom lighting controllers that i built, custom blinkenlights panels that

I think it's that the mainstream stuff has just pushed too hard against usability for nerds. I bought a laser cutter recently that requires internet access so they can use "the power of google cloud" to process vector files.
