Love gimp, but what has come to drive me nuts about using it is that the icons are now all flat and colorless. It seriously slows down my workflow having to hover over each tool for a few seconds to find out what it actually does. And this

Reddit also has a pretty short amount of time that threads have before they're archived. Lots of times I'll come across an old discussion from a few years ago (or longer) and want to ask a question, or thank somebody for somee in

Where are you? Here in Phoenix, AZ, things are basically normal. People have masks on when they're indoors, but businesses (including restaurants and bars) are all open. A rough metric I've been using since march is how far back

As somebody who hadn't heard of this DB before, my thought pattern was basically: "cockroachDB? Oh is this a joke project...? Why would they leave IBM for a...oh, cockroach like can survive a nuclear explosion. Huh."

I'm actually shocked that pulse oximeters have not become a standard piece of a home diagnostic kit. Everybody has a thermometer, and everybody should have a pulseox as well.

The vaccine isn't owned by the federal government. It's owned by these private companies. The Trump administration cannot prevent the vaccine from being disseminated to the public neither here in the US, or in the rest of the wo

What does this have to do with the news that this vaccine was developed so quickly? Regardless of if the program evaporates in January, the vaccine won’t.

Silicon Valley is called that because it’s where all of the chip fabs were. They’ve not anymore, and with TSMC coming to Phoenix, I don’t think it’s a stretch to say that Phoenix is becoming the center of the microprocessor manufacturing i

The thing is: I’m not even giving trump credit here. There are hundred or maybe even thousands of people working in the federal government on warp speed.
