Ha! There is plenty to work on and they have skills for other apps and the platform. They are not-laid off or anything. This tech change was about leverage to spend our time wisely.

Switching to React Native allowed our team of 6 to become a team of 2 and still go twice as quickly. It's not just the cross-platform capabilities - React is also just really great.

Probably towards the end (not that it's necessarily the goal). Make a normal Rails app, and see that grow and the joys and pains that follow. Then see if something like this would make the next one better.

We had a very similar path at TaskRabbit. As we made all those other Rails and/or sinatra and/or node apps, we ran into the issues noted in the "Versus Many Apps" section. Basically: testing, coordination, and deployment

Resque Bus uses resque-retry and resque-scheduler to do exponential backoff. That is, it will retry immediately, 2 seconds later, 4 seconds later, and so on up to several hours. It was a little tricky to make sure it ended back in the right
