I would think IQ in relation to websites being visited would be a better. Rupert Murdock websites = lower score, that sort of thing.

Google+ is too late to win the social media throne. It's boring and only superficially different. The only way Google+ can survive and not shrivel up like Wave is to stop trying to be Facebook 2. Be different Google. Don't be boring.

I'm a professional SEO but I haven't done a lot of testing with +1. I may never. I think it's tacky and easily gamed. That said, it's my understanding +1 is not a signal yet, but will be (albeit of little weight). Not worth worrying about.

Depends on how much time and mental cpu cycles you spend making that $100. If it's only a few minutes to a couple of hours a month, it's a keeper. Assuming that's the case, scale your app so it brings in more (it's already proven itself) ~o

I remember reading this on Hacker News about a year ago. Too lazy to look it up though.

Bing isn't different enough to gain mindshare, and it's search results can't compete with Google (or even Blekko's IMO). You know what would be disruptive? A search engine for physical spaces. When I'm scouring my apartment for a matching s

Hard to believe your comment was downvoted. It's true, people like me knew more about her "trouble-making antics" than her music. That's wrong. She deserves better. Sad day. Rest in Peace Amy.

This is a case of social engineering, not of a security auditor, but of the poster. The poster wants to know an easy way to collect public and private SSH keys and fake 6 months of inbound traffic. There is no auditor. Maybe the poster is w

I have a few. In social media and a service based startup. 'Nuff said. They all make money, but my living expenses, taxes, child support are more.

It's funny. I sympathise with laid off unskilled workers too, but they don't do any worse than most tech savvy startup entrepreneurs. Most of us, including me, are broke and in debt.

Namespro.ca is good, especially for Canadians. I transferred all my domains there from GoDaddy after the elephant killing.

Big upvote on this one. I'll be using it. Instead of immediately freaking out when we see an insect (and calling an exterminator) perhaps this app will help us appreciate and respect them more? I'm allowed to dream.

I've been using Blekko for research in a broad range of topics. Yesterday I searched for French grammar rules and was happy with the results (I actually made a purchase because of it). I quickly referenced Google but the SERPs were far less

I don't like the editorial slant on the title kaptain. You're declaring it a bad idea when you likely don't have anywhere near the credentials to make such a call. Either we continue to eat the same popular fish out of existance, or we can

I'm almost hesitant to say this because I don't want spammers jumping all over this like they have Google, but Blekko is the shiznit. Yes, it used to suck, but try it now. Tell me if the search results aren't much higher quality. Mums the w

Without even looking at your profile I can tell by your remark you still live at home and are no older than 17. That's not a bad thing. You just need to grow up a little. But for now, go ahead, obsess over needless things.

In a world with urban sprawl and animal cruelty, depleting natural resources, and families living on the streets, you're going to focus on a stupid freak accident?

I did the exact thing with Slashdot, when I first got on the Internet in '98. And I'd read Linux Journal although much of that was over my head as well. But slowly you learn, and get to know the stuff, and then it gets boring and so you che

I know a RIM exec personally (and leave it at that) and he mocked my iPhone for several years, calling it "fragile" and a "toy for children". It's been only in the past month or so that he muttered something about the competition getting to
