I wrote my own lisp interpreter in python and it was a very instructive experience, especially since you can get a simple working prototype in one day of hacking around. Then I got stuck at recursively evaluating macros.

If you want to read more on the topic, I enjoyed the book "The World in a Grain: The Story of Sand and How It Transformed Civilization", by Vince Beiser (no affiliation)

Yes, you are correct. In other words, the relationship between temperature and quality is not linear, so directly using the temperature in a linear model gives wrong results. (To be pedantic, the probability will approach 1 as the temperatu

Just an introduction to standard hyperparameter optimization algorithms, nothing specific to deep learning. In fact, the methods mentioned are _not_ practical for deep learning since fitting the model can take days or weeks, unless you have

I'd say the problem isn't so much about readability but about ease of doing certain things. Case in point: non trivial tables, with multirows/multicols, newlines inside cells, and so on

I see an obvious flaw with this. If success is restricted to success at school, children of strict mothers are indeed more "successful" because they spend way more time on homework than the average student. I wonder whether this &
