I'm working on a member management system targeting a small niche market. Currently waiting on design revisions, my designer is coming up with some pretty unique stuff so I don't want to code too much since a lot will need to be rewritten

There's a good list at http://www.techcrunch.com/2008/04/01/build-your-very-own-goo... Yay for random contests + me staying up late to win them :)

I agree with rms...not too much in terms of startups, but we do have 2 things going for us: 1) College students, lots of them. That means that you can find cheap smart labor if you're looking to hire (Carnegie Mellon has lots of coders).

I'm not experimenting so much as trying to provide a beneficial service (at 6am the differences blur significantly though). I'd say around 25% of xkcd's are remotely relevant to this site, the question is whether or not an automated source

Search of SearchYC based on title on 30 TechCrunch articles from March 27-29 found 7/30 articles = ~25% PG's articles get a huge amount of karma regardless, that should probably be botted but may never make it in time (I don't know how quic

The problem is we don't want to flood HN with stuff like this...someone should look at the HN/Posts % (number of entries posted to HN/total number of entries)...I'd say if it's around a constant 2/3 it's worth doing. If I have the time I'l

I used to use 1&1 for domains and hosting, their hosting and support are terrible, and I find their transfer/cancellation process strangely difficult, but they are the cheapest and domain name registrations don't need much in terms of q

I have a girlfriend, but the condition I made when starting the relationship is that she has to be ok with me being too busy certain weeks to see her. I promise to see her once a week at the least, and she's ok with that. She's not thrill

Learning to program well is a valuable skill that is well worth the time invested into it. For however long it takes to learn you free yourself from needing others to do all of your future development (sans time constraints of course).

From http://xkcd.com/about/ How do I write "xkcd"? There's nothing in Strunk and White about this. For those of us pedantic enough to want a rule, here it is: The preferred form is "xkcd", all lower-case. In formal contexts where a lowerc
