Your 30k salary costs your employer around 50-60k (I don't know the deal with your benefits and payroll taxes and all that). Rule of thumb in the US is that you add about 40% to a salary to get the total cost to the company to support

(This comment pertains to Vanguard funds cause I don't know Fidelity). For long term growth you'd likely want either all-stock or a balanced fund, with the lowest costs possible. Unfortunately, funds like Vanguard 500 Index Admira

How many milligrams of caffeine per pea-sized serving is there? People who really like caffeine also really want to know how much they're getting. "Medium" cup of coffee could be anywhere from like 30mg to 80mg.

Atkins is not a keto diet. Atkins starts keto, then reintroduces carbs. Weight loss is simple: calorie deficit. However, switching from carbs to fats and taking advantage of some of the metabolic processes your body has to offer makes the p

There's no good answer. You have to learn how to focus. You can't wait for focus or motivation to come to you, you have to make it happen. Why do new languages interest you? Probably you're just looking for something diff

That's what volumes are for -- put a volume on NFS and have your DB persist there. Even with docker you still need roles for servers; your DB class of servers will have a cloud-config that inits the correct mount points.

I'd say: you should learn as much as you can! That way you can decide for yourself whether or not Kubernetes is for you. One thing Kubernetes IS helpful with at small scales: portability. If you're fully Kubernetes/Docker, th

My guess is it's a simple time-decay-weighted karma-based formula. That is, karma * e ^ -age. "Best" vs "top" may be the difference in net karma vs gross positive karma.

"Volumes" are the Docker construct used to store persisted data. You use a volume when you want to decouple the lifecycle of your data with the lifecycle of the app. You can either map the volume to a directory on the host (ie, ma

So, you build a web app and it gets popular. It needs one load balancer, 5 app servers, at least two database nodes for replication, a redis cluster for caching and queuing, an elasticsearch cluster for full text search, and a cluster of jo

I think the author is making the claim that AWS could add any new product to their Service Offerings at any time (they can) and that Amazon _could_ clone a customer's IP and add it as a Service Offering on AWS, and this clause would pr
