I had a professional development class in college where A, B and C players were defined. "A player" meant you would shoot-for-the-moon, process be damned. You would be a constant source of disruption. That can work in the short term, but a

It sure does! Google can only scan your email, calendar, etc. if you let them. Use outlook.com or Fastmail or iCloud or another alternative if you don't like the agreement Google requires.

Is tracking someone's car a crime? It comes off as a newer form of stalking, in the casual if not legal sense of the term.

Supposing that this problem does affect men and women alike, there is still good reason for GitHub to target one group and not the other. The deck is stacked against women due to sexism, e.g. kitchen jokes; this will take time to end. In t

LEDs emit light in a narrow frequency band, i.e. LEDs have intrinsic colors. White is not just one color, so your options to make white light from LEDs are: 1) Use multiple colors of LEDs, which will make the light source look white but obj

That's a silly argument; you don't have to be the first to do something to be the first to make a difference with it. See: the computer GUI, Google's search engine, Apple's iPod, Apple's iPhone, etc. Google Fiber is certainly a big deal at

Ask Google to do it. If they can get books scanned, OCR'ed and available online, they should be able to do journal articles as well.

Many states do not allow ordinary citizens to record a phone call without the consent of both parties. This seems like it would have the same kind of justification.

If they sell at a >4:1 ratio in favor of the gamer version, it is still suboptimal. If I had to guess, I would say their gamer card prices are by and large good approximations of the value they provide. No idea about professional card

The cost of switching may be low but familiarity is a powerful motivator to stay. We saw this with Office 2007 drawing so much ire despite the ribbon interface being quite good. We're seeing it again to an extent because of the don't-call-i

Google Voice still uses regular old phone calls, unlike pure VoIP setups like Skype. A carrier agnostic phone number and free data-based SMSes must rankle carriers, but it does at least require voice minutes.

The trend is that iOS's market share is growing, albeit not as fast as Android's has been. As an aside, if you want a smartphone that is not humongous, your options are: 1) A low- to mid-range Android device, or 2) Any iPhone When was the l
