This is the way representative democracies work, including the US. Some places have tools such as recall elections that people can use in extreme cases, but usually, it is a matter of voting for someone else next time.

To my surprise, the most common issues I see with the desktop app are audio device issues, e.g. the app doesn't get any audio from my mic the first time I run it, only after I kill and re-launch it. The UI has been fine, if weird. I do

The iOS app seems to work as well or better than the desktop app in my experience, so imagine my surprise finding out it's React Native. If the Android app will work just as well, this is good news.

Large networks of large roads are not financially sustainable [1]. I can only assume this is more the case the more rural you get. Asking for more of the current American style of car infrastructure may not even work, depending on the speci

And collect tax on $20,000 in sales instead of $10,000? Maybe they would be happy if car companies used this scheme.

I agree. I dislike Meta the company and yet the Australian government has managed to make them look good.

Contacting Apple would likely lead to a refund. No need to go to the trouble of doing a chargeback. This is one of the reasons developers don't like Apple's IAP policies: developers have no control over whether Apple decides to gi

I've lived in multiple states including California, and this is the first I've heard of red right turn arrows meaning no right on red. Good to know. I believe I've also seen red right turn arrows in Pennsylvania, but they don

Sublime Text is handy for doing text manipulation and jumping around files. I use it in addition to Xcode for that sort of thing. I know some vim but not enough to use it this way. I hope Fleet is closer to ST in speed than I’ve heard VSCod

It will be interesting to see if CoV-2 has significant seasonality in the long term. We see numbers going up as parts of the US tend to spend more time inside (in the summer for southern states, or like around now, in winter for northern st

AirPods do have a feature where this is supposed to work automatically, without having to pair multiple devices, for all devices on the same iCloud account. It’s nice. I haven’t tried other brand headphones that can pair to multiple devices

I am surprised to see someone saying HLS wouldn't work this way. I'm not up to speed on the latest in HLS, but when I used it circa ten years ago, HLS worked by providing parts of a stream as individual video files, so I'd ex

I agree about YouTube, but I think the funding environment has changed significantly since then. Requiring larger amounts of money or a longer time span than usual is a surmountable problem now. Uber has proven that being unprofitable to th

In this case and things like ATT, Apple is saying "you can no longer do this to our users unless they agree to it first ". And they default to asking users. That users are the ones making these choices is an important point.
