I wish they'd do the median rather than the mean. Having a small percentage of people with super high speeds will drag the mean up, but it doesn't change the experience for the typical consumer.

I would go with one of the new generation of solid state guitar amps like the Boss Katana. These are Class D amps like the one in the article, but voiced for guitar, and with distortion and reverb effects built in. They're very reaso

Definitely an exaggeration. You don't need every single startup to build a $60 million Content ID equivalent. You just need one startup to build Content-ID-as-a-Service. Which actually looks like a pretty good startup idea right now.

This is exactly the problem I found when wanting to use enums. They do not play nicely with transactional DDL.

Google didn't write Kotlin. Maybe they're aiming for glory with Go or Dart, but their adoption of Kotlin feels much more like humility than ego-ism to me.

I see a mix of good and bad arguments here. I believe the story of Bon-Ton and Herberger's being over-leveraged. It's happened to a lot of retailers lately (Toys R Us for example). And I'm sympathetic to his claim that they

It's not as clear cut as that. Someone actually has to bring the antitrust suit. In the last few decades, the US government hasn't been doing as much of that as they used to. Once in the suit, then you have to argue about the &

RabbitMQ is not hard to use directly. I think most developers would be better off doing that, and coming to understand the power of AMQP, rather than adopting cute DSLs like this and Celery that put you into a box and narrow your view of w

By my (admittedly limited) understanding of MVCC, one long running transaction that includes an insert will not block other inserts to the same table. The worst you'd see in that situation is if you were using a sequence for IDs, an I

I don't see the single stagedlog table being a bottleneck if you're just doing inserts to it. Postgres is already doing appends to a single WAL internally.
