Gnu guix has a system that does this as well. I just started using it and have had use for it already: replicating my home environment on another computer was flawless. Copied one dir over, ran guix home reconfigure and after everything ins

I could't see any datum->syntax or syntax->datum anywhere. If you have it, you know you can just implement syntax-rules in syntax-case? I do believe that is how chez, guile and racket does it.

The h265 quality is just not up to par. The av1 encoder does a nice enough job, so does the h264 one.

Have a runtime separate from emacs where you could use things like "liborgmode" comes to mind.

Intel is by far the best out of the box experience under linux. I have 3 cards. I will get one of the new battlmage cards for my gaming pc. Edit: the only downside is that the hw h265 encoder is pretty bad. Av1 is fine though

Sorry for hijacking the thread, but: I was having a look at scheme-rs and read in the readme that you support syntax-case. This somewhat surprised me as the lower level macro facilities are the ugly underbelly of otherwise straightforward c

Did they ever get siblings tail recursion? I remember using it, but since it only worked in release mode I could never rely on it. I found "loop" pretty horrible.

I am a happy mullvad customer since about 5 years. I find it somewhat reassuring that they are not spending a gazillion dollars advertising on YouTube or affiliate websites. And of course prefer that they are in a jurisdiction that isn'

The odds of the next pandemic coming from a virus that spread in a domesticated population and then jumped to humans are low. Just look at how chicken are kept. Ar pigs. Even if you manage to disregard the moral question, it is impossible t

Amazing. It is the first time I have plugged any gpu into my linux box and have it just work. I am never going back to anything else. My main computer uses an a750, and my jellyfin server uses an a310. No issues with linux. The server did n

I have always wondered: would it be possible to put memory on the back side of the motherboard to get I closer to the CPU? And if it is, would it solve anything else than ram clearance for CPU coolers?

A video card that beats the 4060 for under $250 is very much going to be a problem for AMD and is going to eat the "low end" market if it is reasonably stable.

I wonder what happened to my brain writing the above. There is a "He" in there that makes no sense. Flawless support for "different" screens? I of course mean "many screens".

I love my a750. Works fantastic out of the box in Linux. He encoding and decoding for every format I use. Flawless support for different screens. I haven't regretted the purchase at all.

From what I have gathered, the alchemist av1 is about the same or sliiiightly worse than current nvenc. My a750 does about 1400fps for dvd encoding on the quality preset. I havent had the opportunity to try 1080p or 4k though.

This was on ASRock X570M Pro4, with a memory from the qvl. I validated that it worked, and then one day it stopped working after a system update. I gave up on ecc on AMD consumer chipsets. From what I gather it is still shaky.

I tried that AMD thing, and getting things to work properly is hard. Hardly any motherboards advertise ecc support, and getting it to work is finicky and brittle. I stopped using it on my main computer after it silently stopped working and
