Without security guarantees against Putin, it is not a good deal. That was what Zelensky was there to secure.

They never wanted a deal. If they wanted one it would have been negotiated and done before Zelensky stepped on American soil. I don't want to fall into the conspiracy trap, but I can't help thinking this was planned on advance. Es

Donald Trump just turned the USA into a liability. I don't know how anyone can think this is a good idea. Like people thinking killing USAID was a good idea. Guess who is going to pick up to collect the good will USAID gave? China, or

They also turned the US into a liability. I don't think any western nation will rely on the US for anything for a long time.

First of all, Trump has been very reluctant about any security guarantees. I don't think he will give any, regardless of mineral deal or not. And I agree Zelenskys lost yesterday. I was expecting him to do what Starmer did, just "

Are you surprised a country with Russia as it's neighbour wants to join NATO? Especially since it has been an important part of the defense of the European union. Putin has been stuck in the cold war since forever. His expansionist ide

Because he was expected to? To get a mineral deal and a ceasefire seemingly without any security guarantees? (Because Putin "is a man of his word") I never thought I would see the day of a president that was more gullible than Bus

Anecdote time: I did a test like this with a small hobby project of mine (c++). I ported it to rust and saw roughly a 25% speed increase because of some refactorings I was meaning to do for a long time. I then ported the rust code back to c

Yup. You can write xmpp parsers with thin wrappers around a push based sax parser. It is not hard, people are just not familiar with sax. Sure, sax parsers have their limitations, but there are sax parsers that avoid the callback trouble by
