2 years ago I spent a summer in Kenya establishing reforestation projects with local schools and many families already owned a car battery and a cheap solar panel as well as one cell phone per person. This is not a new development.

The problem is that success and money are not the same. There might be a parent that made a lot of money taking stupid risk. The education that the child gets from the parent isn't worth anything and he will have to burn through a lot of mo

Think about the environmental impact of having toothpaste shipped to your house on a UPS truck vs. picking one up at the store while doing your groceries. I like the idea of Amazon Prime but I would feel bad just ordering some paper towels

Great, I too can see myself coming back looking for new music. One thing: I had to think about 5 seconds to figure the "More Obscure" part out. Maybe I'm just slow but the word choice didn't make it obvious to me right away. Design-wise I w

For now just lock the phone with the top button during every call. The antenna seems to be a much bigger issue and possibly even a hardware problem whereas the proximity sensor issue sounds like a calibration problem.

Thanks for your post. I about to graduate college and am already in a 5th year program working on my MBA. I subscribe to the hacker lifestyle even though I don't program and I really value this community. It's sad to see educated people mak

I don't understand your point. My point is that American students subsidized my education and there is no easy way for me to stay and repay society. Either through taxes, donations to charities in my local community, or job creation. German

It might be worth looking at all the foreign students that the U.S. attracts. I was born in Germany, did 2 years of high school in the U.S. and am about to finish college here, too. I got a big scholarship ($20k per year), which is subsidiz

What I got out of your post is that the journey matters, not each individual app. If someone strives to make 400 apps that will make $400/month he will learn a ton along the way and be forced not to fall in love with one idea. When people f
