I may be tired or dumb, but your argument sounds circular to me. Of course the ECB won't insist there is no inflation if they themselves have defined housing to not be included in the definition they use to measure inflation. This does

Did we read the same article? The author of the article customized his environment so opening a file no longer froze his editor. I wouldn't classify that either as "slightly better ergonomics" nor "tinkering" nor &q

In no way do I want to come off as rude with this comment, but to me what you are saying is not at all different from "when I was young I used to work out and eat healthy... a couple of decades later, I just fund it all so exhausting&q

Seems like an optimization of the age-old practice of refusing entry of people into countries who are unable to prove they are vaccinated against common illness. When I travel in for example Africa and South America and Asia I bring my yell

If you look at the article I linked, you can clearly see that the satellites are visible from the ground (the photo from Germany). If you search for "starlink" on Flickr you can see more examples. This is light pollution.

They may "unleash intercontinental lower-than-fiber latency", but they also unleash light pollution. Where do you live? In most of Europe and SE Asia you can get gigabit broadband. I think SpaceX is a cool company and I could see

I feel bad for the author for publishing this article. If your (the author) mindset is that "everyone else is an idiot", be it management, or regulators, auditors or some other group that is not your group (engineer?), then unfort

I'm not a designer and I don't work in a design team, so I don't have much to add to the article. However I worked together with Rasmus during the early years of Spotify. It's now almost 2021 and he is still - by far - t

This is actually a really cool subject and you can write a lot about it, but I can try to summarize. So Sappho lived over 2500 years ago. Obviously we don't have a complete manuscript of everything she wrote in original. What we have i

As a security professional I'm very disappointed when I read the (often angry) messages people have written to the maintainer/author of this software. You can read them here, in the ip range blacklist: https://github.c
