I find the attitude of the Ladybird devs refreshing though, and it kinda aligns with my opinions about Rust. I never fell in love with Rust or got particularly excited about adopting it. But, I just don't see a serious alternative (may

Yeah I think for SMTP it's easy since it's perfectly scalable to do manual approval for each mail. But not really sure how to set up safe search. One idea I had was to say "nobody would ever put a secret in the subject line,

Yeah I have been planning to give it its own accounts on my self hosted services. I think the big challenge here is that I'd like my agent to be able to read my emails, but... Most of my accounts have Auth fallbacks via email :/ S

Yeah I think this is gonna have to be the approach. But I don't like the fact that it has all the complexity of a baked in sandboxing solution and a big plugin architecture and blah blah blah. TBH maybe I should just vibe code my own..

I hate constantly discussing this but this one is quite interesting. "It's a great example of..." definitely set off my slop alarm. On the other hand it isn't actually "a vague retelling of the article" it'

Does anyone know a Claw-like that: - doesnt do its own sandboxing (I'll set that up myself) - just has a web UI instead of wanting to use some weird proprietary messaging app as its interface?

The Linux kernel has been using __attribute___((cleanup)) for a little while now. So far, I've only seen/used it in cases where the alternative (one goto label) isn't very bad. Even there it's basically welcome. But ther

I guess what I'm saying is: for very large complex features, I don't want one big commit. I want to review a series of commits and then I want to have that series of commits persist in the history. This is how Gerrit operates &quo

You can't "stack" MRs in Gitlab though right? So if you're merging a complex feature you just have one huge mega commit?

FWIW as someone who sadly has about 10% of his brain constantly engaged in AI detection when I read HN, absolutely nothing about the announcement struck me as feeling AI generated. (I feel guilty for pointing it out but I guess it's ac

Is there a good code review tool out there? The best one I've used is Gerrit, at least it has a sensible design in principle. Aside from that I've only used GitHub and Gitlab which both seem like toys to me. (And mailing lists, lo

I wish this would be the default. I expose my homelab port 22 directly to the internet. I'm _pretty_ sure I always always always disable password auth but I do worry about it because most distros have an unsafe default. (A lot of this
